I woke up this morning to a serious downpour. It rained hard all morning, and it was supposed to rain all day, so I decided to go ahead and check out the course even though I knew it would be muddy.

We arrived in Beijing yesterday evening and got to the Athlete Village with just enough time to put bikes together and go for a short spin.

The past few days here on Jeju Island in South Korea have been most excellent.

We arrived in Frankfurt, Germany on Thursday and drove from there down to Houffalize. This year, instead of staying at a hotel we rented a house in the nearby village of Bertogne. My mom and Bo are here too- they decided to come over to see the first 2 world cups and it has been really fun having them around.

Perhaps a bit anticlimactic to last weeks Olympic team news, let's start from the most recent activity in my memory.

Mary and I had the challenging yet awesome opportunity to spend three weeks RV mobile and without the stress of world cup obligations in Southern Europe.

The Anticipation of traveling in Europe for several months on end to race bikes is always a bit daunting and this year proved to be no exception.

I have a reoccurring nightmare. I am on the beach and storm clouds roll in. A wave is building and building out at sea. It comes closer and closer and is sweeping up people, trees and all in its path. Now it is on the beach and right on top of me, taller than the highest skyscraper. And then I wake up.
